My opthamologist has confirmed that my eye issue is similar, if not PHPV (after searching 37 years for an answer it took an online Jan bubs group for me to find the answer - thanks Trac!) and I don't notice it. It's normal for me. Had a bit of teasing in primary school but once the other kids knew what it was, they were generally ok with it. Catching sports were an issue for me, but that's aobut it, I love reading (can speed read)don't have issues driving...and have my own fully sighted little man. Don't feel guilty. Please :)Bronwynnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06327766435663883555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808146268393461519.post-87159343252079249742011-04-14T16:10:28.260-07:002011-04-14T16:10:28.260-07:00I'm sorry that you are having more troubles wi...I'm sorry that you are having more troubles with his eye. I hope he is better soon. Any word what has caused the bleeding?

I came across your posting and wanted to say thanks. My little boy was born with PHPV in one eye last year. After two unsuccessful surgeries, they found a detaching retina. We have excellent hospitals and surgeons here, but it was of no help. He now has a shell and is doing well with it after the initial discomfort passed. I want so much to know why this happened to him. The doctors have all said it's not an exposure or anything that happened during pregnancy, but it's so hard to accept that it's just an oops when you see so many functioning eyes in the world. If you know or hear anything - commonalities in experiences for example, or recent genetic test advances, I would be happy to know them.

Mainly, I want to say thanks - it's so helpful to hear other stories.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05519485598076370877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808146268393461519.post-35379441662886141872011-04-06T20:52:26.174-07:002011-04-06T20:52:26.174-07:00Dear Tracie, my son to has PHPV in his right eye. ...Dear Tracie, my son to has PHPV in his right eye. The news crushed me and til this day i try to forgive myself daily. I love him more than all the earth. He is now 14months and have started patching and adding contact lens. It will be difficult but after reading your blog and feeling your strenght i know it will be ok . Thank you for your blog. I pray Joel will be happy and healthy always. When i think of how the other children will taunt and make fun of my son my heart breaks, i wish i could take the hurt away from him but like John 9:1 he is the gift of God and i will always love himalexandranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808146268393461519.post-63423340884862903182011-03-31T05:02:24.157-07:002011-03-31T05:02:24.157-07:00I am sorry you are facing more challenges...we'...I am sorry you are facing more challenges...we'll keep Joel in our prayers. An Ounce of Luckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00243808718807537549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808146268393461519.post-85266989889131211142011-03-31T01:05:56.469-07:002011-03-31T01:05:56.469-07:00Thinking of you and your family Tracie, you are su...Thinking of you and your family Tracie, you are such a beautiful person and I pray that God gives you the strength and peace through all this.Debshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05934496400075356775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808146268393461519.post-64958144352857551152011-03-30T21:41:53.136-07:002011-03-30T21:41:53.136-07:00Tracie and Richard, we are thinking of you guys an...Tracie and Richard, we are thinking of you guys and what you and your family is going through.
Sending lots of love and cuddles to Joel and Annalise
love Jak & Brett
-xoxoxox-Jaknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7808146268393461519.post-32441246149106234792011-03-30T21:10:34.305-07:002011-03-30T21:10:34.305-07:00Such a brave little boy you have Trac.
